At Sigean, the Saïmiris live on an island whose surface area is proportionate to the size of our little monkey, which weighs just 800 grams. For each Saïmiri, the island’s 335 m2 would be equivalent, for one man, to a 17.28-hectare adventure playground. Palms and other tree species provide a natural environment for Saïmiris to seek out food in the form of buds or insects.
