Blue-bellied Roller

The blue-bellied Rollier is territorial in the mating season but can live all year in small groups of 3 to 7 individuals. He places his nest ten meters high in a tree or palm hole, and defends it against any intruder. The courtship parades of the blue-bellied Rollier are spectacular aerial ballets: chases, twists, dizzy dives, acrobatics, all accompanied by characteristic hoarse cries.
